DAF DB250 - Northern Counties Palatine 2

Saturday 5 January 2008: Six of these vehicles arrived from Arriva Kent and Sussex soon after Arriva took over GNE services at Bishop Auckland. Some entered service in their original condition (Dual Door) and some ran in Arriva Corporate Red Livery. All are now at Ashington for now, though they maybe moved in the near future.

Volvo Olympian - Northern Counties Palatine 2

Sunday 30 October 2005: Both batches of Volvo Olympians were delivered in Northumbria Colours. The M regs were originally delivered to Hexham for the 602, while Jesmond got P regs for 45, 306, 356. Most of the Volvo Olympians are scattered around Northumbria.

Volvo Olympian - East Lancs

Sunday 30 October 2005: These Volvo Olympians came from London and County, and were all allocated to London. 5 went south to Durham, however 7425 which was on loan to Darlington at the time, came across a low bridge near Teesside Airport, and it now has a roof of an ELC bodied Dominator.

Volvo B10M - East Lancs

Sunday 30 October 2005: These short B10Ms have be around most of the country, brought new by Grey Green, came to Arriva NE via Scotland. They were used as float vehicles while Arriva fitted their other buses and coaches with AVL (Automatic / Advance Vehicle Locater). There was 5 in total and all have since been Withdrawn and Sold on.

Volvo B10BLE - Wright Renown

Saturday 29 October 2005: Arriva aquired a batch of 15 B10BLEs for services 355 and M55, with the vehicles seeing use on the 42/43 group of services. though they often appear on other routes.

Volvo B10BLE - Alexander ALX 300

Saturday 29 October 2005: Arriva aquired a small batch of B10BLEs with Alexander ALX 300 bodies for the 604. Though all are repainted now, they can be found on various Low Floor routes.

Volvo B7TL - Alexander Dennis ALX 400

Saturday 29 October 2005: Another new type to arrive in 2005 was the B7TL, however it carried the familier ALX 400 body, as carried by the Tridents. Both are allocated to Darlington as Operation Overdrive.

Sunday 16 October 2005: In 2000 Arriva Northumbria aquired 10 M-B 0.814D from dealer stock to upgrade the Whitley Bay area services. However a handful have arrived from Arriva Wales.

Sunday 16 October 2005: North East Bus as it was known brought 51 Vectas, though in Arriva times got 7 second hand from Crosville Cymru and Midland Red North. Many remain in service, though some have Cummins Engines in.

Thursday 22 September 2005: Arriva has operated many ECW Olympians over the years, and the numbers are starting to dwindle. Most of the ECW Olympians in the fleet (Around Late Sept 2005) are D-FYM examples that were new to London Buses. All of the ECW Olympians have Gardener 6LXB engines. Also I like to add that I own the registration plate off 7301 (C263XEF).

Tuesday 13 September 2005: Arriva NE First Low Floor Deckers were allocated to Hexham depot for service 602. They were then transferred with the intention of using them on the 308, and since then, they have gone to Jesmond for service 306.

Tuesday 13 September 2005: These Pointer 2s were originally split between Bishop Auckland, Darlington and Peterlee. However some of them have made the Journey accross the Pennines, and some other hills to join their counterparts (1601-1609) in Arriva NW and Wales.

Tuesday 13 September 2005: The First 9 Low Floor Darts for Arriva North East were 1601 - 1609 at Darlington depot, however in 2003 1601 - 1608 went to Arriva North West and Wales. And in 2005 1609 followed along with the standard Pointers and some of the Pointer 2s.

DAF SB3000 - Plaxton

Tuesday 13 September 2005: The main coach in use for Long Distance service for Arriva North East are the DAF SB3000 / Plaxton. They are mainly found on the 93/93A, Route 685 and the Great North Rd Corridor (505/515). However the ones found on the GNR Corridor were orignally used on the X4/X13/X14 - Bishop Auckland - Darlington - Middlesbrough - Redcar - Saltburn Route, but were transferred in Summer 2005 to Alnwick Depot, plus one to Hexham Depot.
